Hawaii Helicopter Tours – The Best Air Tours to the Big Island, Oahu, Maui, and Kauai

Planning a Hawaiian vacation? Make sure to include a helicopter flight to your list of things to do. Only from the air will you be able to thoroughly see and experience such things as fiery volcanoes, plunging waterfalls, sheer sea cliffs, spouting whales, and lush rainforests. And you’ll do it in less than 60 minutes.

Sound too good to be true? Here’s a short list of island helicopter tours that break the hour mark:

Kauai – Includes Poipu (southern coast), Waimea Canyon, the Na Pali Coast, North Shore, and Wailua Falls. (Estimated time: 55 minutes)

Maui – Haleakala Crater, Manawainui, Oheo Gulch (Seven Pools), and the Hana Rainforest Preserve. (Estimated time: 50 minutes)

Hawaii – Kilauea volcano (continuously erupting since 1983), lava flows, black-sand beaches, tropical rain forests, and cascading waterfalls. (Estimated time: 50 minutes)

Oahu – Waikiki Beach, Diamond Head, Hanauma Bay, coral gardens, Pearl Harbor, and the Dole Pineapple Plantations. (Estimated time: 45 minutes)

Each major Hawaiian island is packed with natural wonders. It would take you weeks to see it all by foot, car, bike, and kayak to explore it all. By helicopter, you’ve “been there, done that” it the time it takes to mow the lawn. No other form of sightseeing can match this.

Picking the tour that’s right for you depends on the island you visit. For instance, most operators offer one standard tour on Kaua’i, Oahu, and Molokai, with plenty of opportunities to customize it (be prepared to pay more). It’s Maui and Hawaii where you need to do your research as each islands boasts a number of tours that focus on a specific area.

Flying in a helicopter is safe. Hawaii is part of the United States and is subject to the air-safety guidelines, regulations, and inspections followed on the Mainland. In addition, helicopter tourism is a booming industry in Hawaii and has allowed many operators to build some of the newest and most hi-tech fleets in the world.

Purchasing a helicopter trip is not as expensive as you think. The cost of a 50-minute tour is about $160 at the time of this writing. Prices increase the longer you are in the air and the more area you cover. The best way to save money and get the best deal is to book your trip online. It’s not secret that visitors just like you have saved up to 35% by using the Internet.

There are plenty of tours and attractions clamoring for attention in Hawaii. Most are a great value. However, none come close to delivering the type of all-encompassing experience that a Hawaiian helicopter tour does. Take one, and you’ll return home with a real understanding of the Aloha spirit.

The BEATLES TOUR OF LONDON

If you are a serious fan of the Beatles read on as this article is all about the Beatles tour of London. The tour takes you to the studios, pubs, cafes, film locations, music venues and art galleries that inspired the fab four. Also other famous musicians like The Rolling Stones, Sex Pistols, The Who, David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Jimmy Hendrix that took inspiration from these places.

You get to visit London’s ‘Tin Pan Alley’ which is quite simply Europe’s best music street which is filled with specialist music shops. The street is actually called ‘Denmark Street’ but was nicked named ‘Tin Pan Alley’ in the 1920′s. On the tour you can recreate some of the famous Beatles publicity shots and see where the Beatles and other music legends lived, played and socialised. The Beatles and Jimmy Hendrex even recorded music in the basement. Another street in London which is part of the tour is ‘Carnaby Street’. This street was also the centre of music in the 60′s and 70′s attracting all bands mentioned above.

No Beatles tour would be complete without a visit to the famous Abbey Road studios where you get to see the famous zebra crossing seen on the iconic Abby Road album cover. The tours takes a short tube journey to St John’s Wood tube station, then just a short 5 -10 minute walk to the studios in. You can have your photograph taken on the zebra crossing. It can be a busy road but with the help of the rest of the group playing traffic warden, everyone on the tour can get their photo taken.

If you would like to find the studio where the Beatles recorded Hey Jude and Dear Prudence, stop by the art gallery where John Lennon first met Yoko Ono and see where the Beatles played their rooftop session, this tour is definitely for you. You can also see the home that Paul McCartney has lived in since the 1960s.

The beauty of this Beatles London tour is that as well as seeing all these famous places you will be among other true fans of the fab four. You can share stories and because you are among other fans with the same interests as yourself many people find new lifelong friends.

The tour last for approximately 2 ½ hours and the cost is just £15 per person. If you have a group of friends you could arrange a private tour which can be either a walking/bus or even a chauffeur guided tour.

Is It Really The Tour de France Without Lance?

Okay so, something is different about the Tour de France in 2011, it’s just not the same. In fact the celebrity of Lance Armstrong got to be so strong, that the Tour de France should have been changed to the; Tour de Lance. This year of course Lance Armstrong has retired, and it surely appears that last year he was really huffing and puffing to keep up with those younger guys, as it is a young man sport.

He did prove that experience was worth something, and he was able to compete in the top tier, but he couldn’t win, and he kind of knew that, even though he tried his hardest, and did have a chance to the victory, but as luck would have it, he didn’t claim the title again. Indeed, it almost makes sense that he would become a spokesman for the race, as he had definitely put it on the map, especially for American viewers. It’s hard to say how many people were inspired to buy road bikes, and go out and get in shape.

However, there is a reason why the sponsors paid so much, because his celebrity status brought with it not only the notoriety, but also solidified the brands which he represented. There was probably not a prouder time in US history for the US Post Office than when Lance Armstrong wore the jersey along with his teammates. That was a great day for America and a great day for the United States Post Office. Rain or shine and perseverance definitely shined through, and it was a big ego booster for all the postal employees.

This year, without Lance Armstrong it almost doesn’t even seem like the same race, it seems to have lost its character, and I am indeed having a hard time watching the race with the same energy and passion as I have when Lance was competing. The bicycle shops always do better when the race is going on, but this year they probably won’t do as well. We need more people to get off their butts, and do more exercise. It would be nice if people would do more walking and jogging, but right now folks are getting a little bit on the hefty side, and we don’t want them to blow out their knees.

If more people would ride bikes, they would be in better shape, the rate of diabetes would go down, and it would help our healthcare system. Healthier humans and happier Americans provide more productivity which increases shareholder equity, quarterly profits, and efficiency of our overall civilization.

People learn better in school when they are healthier, and being in strong physical shape is the fastest way to cure someone of their depression. We need Lance back, America needs a spokesperson. Please consider all this and think on it.
